Frequenlty Asked Questions

The parade steps-off on Liberty and Depot St.  It will proceed south on Liberty to W Washington St. ending at Fulton St.

The parade route is approximately 10 blocks long.

Numbers will be emailed to you prior to the festival and once the lineup is complete. You MUST check in at the parade check in booth on parade day.

We recommend setting a meeting place (a specific corner, for example) for everyone to meet. You should then send one person to check in/pick up your placard and then proceed to your assigned spot.

There is very little parking available in the immediate downtown area on parade day. Most streets west of Liberty and South of High St/Liberty are closed to parking as this is the lineup area. Please plan to arrive early so you have plenty of time to find a parking space and walk to the parade area.

The parade is normally 2 ½ hours in duration.

You cannot drive into the parade lineup area, so you should plan to walk to your assigned space.  Anyone can ask for their unit number at the parade check in booth, and there will be several parade workers available to direct you to your space.

Our biggest priority is the safety of all parade participants and spectators. Prohibiting candy greatly decreases the number of children running into the street in front of our parade entries, many of which are difficult to stop even though they are driving slowly. Other types of handouts are allowed only if they are distributed at curbside.

The buses park at the student lot at Morris Community High School, located on Union Street while waiting for the bands to march in the parade. The buses will pick up your students at the Calhoun/Jefferson intersection which used to be drop off.

The parade check in booth is located at the corner of High St and Liberty Street. All units coming in from the south should use High St. to come to check-in.  All units coming in from the west and north should approach from Liberty St. off of Route 6 or Wauponsee St.  Please keep Waverly St. clear as this is used for ambulances to Morris Hospital.
