GRUNDY COUNTY CORN FESTIVAL
28th ANNUAL BABY SHOW AND PHOTO CONTEST
SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2019
MORRIS COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL AUDITORIUM
12:00 PM to 4:00 PM

ENTRY FEE: $5.00 per contest/$10.00 for both – CASH OR CREDIT ONLY, NO CHECKS ACCEPTED

All Baby Show contestants along with everyone attending must wear a Corn Festival Button.  Buttons are not included in entry fee.

Entries to be made in person at the Corn Festival office, 909 N. Liberty Street.   No entries will be accepted by mail or electronically.

BABY SHOW JUDGING:       Personality - Disposition - General Appearance

PHOTO JUDGING:                Clarity - Personality - Appropriateness of Subject

BABY’S ATTIRE:                   Any outfit that is cute and comfortable for your child

ENTRIES LIMITED:               20 girls and 20 boys in each age group - applies to Baby Show only

DEADLINE:                            All entries must be turned in to the Corn Festival office by Wednesday, September 18, 2019 BY 5 P.M.

The Corn Festival office is now located at 909 N. Liberty Street.  This is the train depot that also houses the Grundy Chamber.  The Corn Festival office entrance is at the back of the building.  Parking is available.

ABSOLUTELY no entries will be accepted on the day of the show. RESULTS OF PHOTO SHOW WILL

WILL BE POSTED ON THE CORN FESTIVAL WEBSITE FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 27TH.

PHOTOGRAPHS:                   Only 8” x 10” UNFRAMED photographs will be accepted.

ONE PICTURE PER CONTESTANT.

SHOW TIMES:

  • 6-12 month girls:  Noon
  • Twins:  12:30 pm
  • 6-12 month boys:  12:45 pm
  • 13-23 month girls:  1:30 pm
  • 13-23 month boys:  2:00 pm
  • 2 year girls/boys:  2:30 pm
  • 3 years girls/boys:  3:00 pm
  • 4& 5 year girls/boys:  3:30 pm

GIRLS AND BOYS WILL BE JUDGED SEPERATLY

CHECK IN:  30 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR SHOW TIME

Winning pictures will be displayed at the show and during the week of Corn Festival.

ALL PHOTOS NEED TO BE PICKED UP AT THE CORN FESTIVAL OFFICE BY NO LATER THAN FRIDAY October 11, 2019.  THE PICTURES WILL NOT BE MAILED AT THE END OF THE EVENT.  NO EXCEPTIONS.  THE CORN FESTIVAL OFFICE WILL NOT BE HELD LIABLE FOR ANY LOST OR DAMAGED PHOTOS.

The Grundy County Corn Festival in Morris, IL for 2020 has been officially canceled due to the Pandemic.

The Grundy County Corn Festival Board unanimously voted to cancel this year’s festival due to so many unknowns and variables at this time. We know that the cancellation will be a big disappointment for many people. Please know that our board made this decision with heavy hearts and analyzed every avenue to make it happen to no avail. The attendees, staff & volunteers of our festival and our community’s well-being/safety is of utmost concern to all of us.

The Illinois Department of Public Health currently has not published their festival and parade guidelines, the state’s inspectors for carnivals are not doing inspections, and there is a possibility that we cannot obtain necessary permits/licenses for this year.

Again, we are deeply saddened in making this extremely difficult decision, but look forward to another great festival in 2021.
